Meet Elijah
In 2019, Elijah was offered an apartment at United House. We are proud to share his story on going from addiction to an address.

Dear Friends,

Your continued support of our programs is crucial to improving the quality of life for thousands of individuals in Southeastern Wisconsin. This year, we are asking for contributions focused on eliminating chronic homelessness for those with serious mental illness, physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, and/or substance abuse challenges.

A home is offered based on the knowledge that securing safe and stable housing is the first step in eliminating chronic homelessness; it is not a future aspiration after a myriad of other challenges have been resolved. Supportive services are provided through Sirona Recovery, whose staff operate through lenses of person-centered, harm-reduction, and trauma-informed care that help residents maintain housing by addressing their mental health, physical health, substance use treatment needs, employment, and daily living and communication skills.

We hope you will be generous once again and match or exceed your previous donation so that our Housing programs can continue supporting our residents. Your gift will enable our staff to purchase bus tickets so residents may be provided transportation to and from job interviews, buy business-appropriate clothing for interviews, and obtain hygiene items that may otherwise be unaffordable.

We wish you and your loved ones a warm and wonderful holiday season.

Gratefully,

Nick Sayner
